Sunday, a day of rest? Not for me.

I woke up around 10am, after the most sleep I had treated myself to since Fashion Week BERLIN started. Yes, thats right WEEKS! an extra 5 hours, it really made the difference. My phone bleeped it was **Angelica** 'I have a chef coming over to cook us lunch, do you eat seafood?'

Even if I was a strict veggie, I probably would have said yes knowing that this celeb lives very close to Billingsgate Market so I knew it would be fresh and outstandingly delicious. It was, it really really was. Probably the nicest seafood dish I have ever had thanks to Robert her chef.

The reason I was in Canary Wharf on a Sunday, being driven around town with Fifi the smallest little dog on my lap was because I was heading to her huge converted listed flat to style her fabulous for a job interview she was heading to the very next day.

My briefing was 'I want to look smart, but I have been told not to dress in a business suit' Those words were like a 'hallelujeh moment' for me. Easy Peasy! I am naturally quite a classic dresser so was totally in my comfort zone, adding that little je ne sais quoi would be no trouble at all. I threw a couple of fail safe dresses into a bag and filled with accessories to help me along that French route I just explained.

Fourty minutes later, we were done. I even managed to get her into those illuminous opaques and she looked HOT. She loved everything I had pulled together and I had matched the briefing perfectly. It was a great experience but nothing made my week more than to receive a recommendation of this magnitude:

naive

OK, so job interview 19 is this week at a very well known fashion house.  It's so ironic that I should get an interview there because I'm SO not into fashion.  Yes, I like to look good, but I don't really follow any particular label.  I didn't even know who Alexander McQueen was until the news of his passing came along.

And here's a secret, but there are some clothes in my closet that I bought from Sainsbury's!  I like to think of myself as Carrie Bradshaw, but I certainly don't have her wardrobe! I was told not to wear a suit to the interview.

I panicked.  What do I wear to an interview at a fashion house when I don't follow fashion? I knew I needed help from fashionista and celebrity stylist, Karena Sedwick. Karena was kind enough to come over to my flat Sunday afternoon to style me.

How exciting!  I've had my make-up done for a few TV appearances, but I've never been styled before! I was really fortunate that I had a lot of basics in my wardrobe.  Karena asked if I had any black skirts.  I went to my wardrobe and pulled out 9 black skirts. She then asked if I had a vest, which initially confused me because a vest is slightly different in American English than British English.  Yes, I did have plenty of vests. What was great about having Karena work with me was that she gave me fashion ideas and options I had never though about about.  I had many of the essentials in my wardrobe already.  She was able to pick out what exactly would look good on me and add accessories that made the outfit stand out. My proud moment was when she said that one of my jackets looked, "very Chanel."  For that one minute,

I felt like a real fashionista! I highly recommend Karena's services.  Check out her website http://www.mynewbestfriends.co.uk/ She's über busy - she just finished curating Tunbridge Wells Fashion Week - but she should be able to squeeze a few of you in for appointments - This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
