Yes, it’s a fact. I am truly miserable that I missed out on Paris Fashion Week. The last 5 seasons, I have been given the opportunity to attend with VIPs. Every time I have had to decline due to workloads, childcare, financial belt tightening, and family commitments. You know how it is, real life! I cannot complain after my amazing whirlwind of enjoying New York and London fashion weeks, but I would have loved a ‘buy 2 get one free’ situation. So, as always I have been glued to the 17inch macbook screen, watching everything through the power of live streaming. I can’t remember how but in-between virtual viewing shows I stumbled upon RooR (Renaissance of our Roots) I checked them out personally, I hit that ‘wow’ factor. The RooR collection is not for the faint hearted. You are unlikely to see any of their pieces mixed in with the average high street collection. It has an utterly unique feel and look. Fashion is supposed to be fun and RooR totally embrace this. The Frozen, AW2010 collection is made from emerging African talent combined with attitude and ballsey fabrics inspired by the idea of a new ice age. Think silver and white Nigerian lace and you’re quarter there! The concept is unique and dare I say, maverick. It’s one of those marmite moments; you either love or hate it. Personally, I love marmite. What do you think? Let me know: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
